GETTING STARTED / SWITCHING
Your first switching setup.
Identify your module, plan the signal path and verify one switching operation. Use this checklist alongside the documentation for your exact module.
Start with your module
A module from the Switching family. Connections vary by model.
Step 1
Before you start
Find the part number on your module and open the matching product page. Switching includes general-purpose relays, multiplexers and matrices; identify which type you have before planning your signal path.
- Locate the manual and connection diagram for your exact model and revision.
- List the signals and test points you need to connect.
- Check the module specifications against your application, including voltage, current and switching limits.
Before you continue: You have identified your module and the documentation that applies to it.

Connect
Plan the route from your instrument, through the switching module, to the device under test. Use the module connection diagram to identify the terminals and channels involved.
- Follow the module documentation for mounting, power and connection requirements.
- Match the pin-to-pin or wired arrangement to your fixture design.
- Check the completed wiring against your planned signal path before applying power.
Before you continue: The selected channels and physical connections match your connection plan.

Configure
Choose the software workflow for your setup: Brygga, ASCII commands or a programming API. Use the instructions and command reference supplied for your module.
- Confirm that the software can communicate with the intended module.
- Match the channel identifiers in the software to your connection plan.
- Check the documented initial relay state and how to return to it.
Before you continue: You can identify the intended module and channels before changing a switching state.
Step 4
Verify
Start with one documented switching operation and a controlled test setup. Verify the resulting connection before adding it to a larger test sequence.
- Check that the intended path changes as expected.
- Check that unrelated paths remain in their expected state.
- Return the module to the documented initial state and record the result.
Before you continue: The observed connection agrees with the commanded state, and you can repeat the operation.
